Job Description

As a Revit BIM Modeler, you play a crucial role in the design process of SBE’s major civil engineering projects: you’re the one who translates theory into practice, by turning structural calculations into buildable designs. You work closely with the project manager, project engineers, and your fellow BIM modelers. In this role, you develop and manage sub-models and drawings within the BIM information model for concepts such as concrete or steel bridges, quay walls, lock gates, industrial structures, or tunnels.

A glimpse of the tasks you might take on:

  • You work within a project context and shape the design together with your team. You search for creative solutions and move through various phases, working from rough to detailed towards a viable solution. In doing so, you take into account all relevant constraints and client requirements, while also keeping constructability in mind. You ensure the design is modeled precisely and neatly, and that it is clash-free;
  • You model in 3 dimensions (or more). Ultimately, you translate the 3D model into clear design drawings;
  • You contribute to visualizations, quantity take-offs, and more;
  • You strive for efficiency and continuously seek improvements, for example through scripting or parametric design.
